During the winter the most popular activities are definitely skiing and snowboarding. The Adamello Ski area offers over 100km of slopes in the areas of Passo del Tonale, Presena Glacier, Ponte di Legno and Temù, all connected with modern lifts. There is also a cross-country ski ring 5km long and the whole area is very popular for ski mountaineering. You can also go snowshoeing or dog sledding in sleigh pulled by Siberian dogs.
Families traveling with small children will appreciate the Fantaski: a playground with entertainment where you can leave your children during a day of skiing. In case of bad weather in Passo Tonale is an ice-skating rink, or, just an hour from the Passo del Tonale, the Baths of Bormio are a great way to spend a relaxing day.
Nearby there are also many artistic, cultural and natural sights, some of them can also be visited during the winter. The area is rich in ruins and museums on the Great War, and not far from Passo Tonale you can visit cities of great beauty like Trento, Bolzano, Merano and Bressanone or beautiful castles such as Valer Castle, Malgolo Castle, the Eremo di San Romedio, Buonconsiglio Castle and Thun Castle.
